In 2014, the AG Palliativmedizin established a Coordination Office for Palliative Care, supported by funding from the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe). The Coordination Office consolidates and connects the exchange of knowledge and expertise among palliative care facilities at the 26 funded CCC locations.

The Coordination Office continuously monitors the integration of palliative care within the German CCCs and actively contributes to incorporating the latest insights in palliative care into oncological treatment.

The Coordination Office generates impulses, ideas, research questions and initiatives from the Working Group members, which are then directed toward the key focus areas mentioned here. The coordination office facilitates the planning and implementation of jointly coordinated projects, and ensures that work results are transferred to other areas and institutions, both within and outside the CCCs. Additionally, the Coordination Office aims to work with the CCCs to increase public awareness of palliative care topics.

Located at the CCC Erlangen-EMN, the Palliative Care Coordination Office serves as a contact point for further collaborations with other working groups within the CCC network, as well as with external partners inside and outside of palliative care.
